Cocoon
flays the black cocoon
white skin strides within the room
visage of black moon
wondered purpose for t'was naught
starts the foreboding red doom
mirror, signs of rot
tasted tears, it wails
for it knows, a mere clone goes
tasted fears, it flails
for it knows, its thoughts shall go
for it knows, the lies will fly
tasted years, it bails
flays the white cocoon
white skin smiles within the room
visage of white moon
yearning hope till it was sought
ends the foreboding red doom
mirror, give it another shot
Notes
I gave ballad another shot but I was tempted to add tanka style(5-7-5-7-7-5) + rhyme schemes. Because I gave in to the temptation, now I failed to give it some musical property once again. Oh well.
For the first line it was a systematic rhyme scheme (ABACBC) but I gave up on the 2nd line and just went full on freestyle rhyme scheme. I had to make it freestyle as I was truly having a hard time expressing my flow. This poem was a journey. My flow fluctuated. At first I wanted a bad ending because that was my emotions when I was making this. Ironically, while listening to the playlist "dark academia, studying and reading instrumentals" I suddenly wanted to give this poem a hopeful ending. There was a little bit of realization that making a poem for me is therapeutic and how I end the poem will mirror how I feel throughout the following hours of the day. Sometimes, this phenomena doesn't happen as I feel excited and proud if I end a poem in a dark tone ending. I guess, it depends with the flow of the poem. Heh.
